Well I’m a guy who comes from Ireland but now lives in China, Chengdu in Sichuan province to be exact. A few years ago I was persuaded by friends to stop boring them to death about my love of comedy and actually get up on stage and give it a go.

A big push from owner of The Bookworm bar, Peter, saw my debut stand up gig as part of the closing night of the Chengdu literary festival. Since then my closing night set has become a feature of the festival

As the amount of foreigners in Chengdu increased so did the possibility of holding stand up comedy nights. So after a lot of hard work from the Bookworm guys Andrew and Peter we finally held South-West China’s very first stand up night in March 2013.

Since then we are slowly seeing Chengdu become a feature on the China comedy scene, hosting Kungfu Komedy legends Drew Fralick and Turner Sparks.

We also managed to have a sell out show with a personal favourite of mine, Des Bishop.  Supporting Des at that gig has been the highlight of my comedy career so far.
